Patriarchy
Are We Done Yet?
I’m pretty tired of male predators. That men who have made positive changes in our history have now been outed by multiple female victims makes me ashamed to have looked up to them. The latest of these is Cesar Chavez.
I want that list of predators that the President is hiding published in every news venue in America. Women have a right to know who to stay clear of. Parents have a right to know who to protect their children from. And our prosecutors have a right to know who they need to bring charges against.
This culture of male dominance, superiority, and “Don’t ask don’t tell” must come to an end.
Rape is rape. It is a crime. There must be accountability and prosecution of the perpetrators, and vindication for the victims.
A child can’t give consent. They are not on an equal level with an adult. Likewise, consent is tricky between a boss and their subordinate. The over use of alcohol also makes consent null and void. Don’t even get me started on rohypnol.
Listen, men. You are larger boned than women. Your muscles are bigger and your body chemistry lends you to be more powerful. That was by design. You were created to be the provider and protector of your family.
If you only feel powerful when you cause pain to another human being, or if you need a child to shrink in terror to ensure you feel good about yourself then you need some serious mental health intervention.
Parents, you can protect your daughters by educating your sons. There is a false belief among young men that if a woman says “no” she really means “yes.” They also think women play hard to get and want to be dominated.
Some men don’t know how to deal with their feelings and are oblivious to the feelings of others. We can teach our daughters to limit their time alone with a man until they see compassion and tenderness from him.
America is a patriarchy. It has been since its inception. In my family, my Dad was the leader, had the most influence, and made the rules. He was also loving, compassionate, and extremely intelligent. He gave more compliments than criticism and believed all humans were equally loved by God.
It is possible to live in a patriarchal society and have equal rights. We have seen the gradual change to excepting the intelligence and leadership of women, but unfortunately were not able to elect a woman to the Presidency. We would be in a much better place if we had.
I was initially happy to see women in the Cabinet, I didn’t know they were only decoration and mouthpieces for regime.
The fight for equality is far from over. We must continue to fight to maintain our right to vote and get rid of the felon who is in cognitive decline, behaving like a middle school bully who demeans those who have more intelligence, integrity, and positive influence than he does.
Impeach End the war Bring charges of war crimes Release the damn files.
Haven’t we had enough already?
